ICP @ Agora Cleveland (5/12/2025)
Admittedly, going into the show on Monday night I was only familiar with one ICP song. I knew people growing up that were Juggalos, and one of my current friends is as well. Despite that, ICP have always been on my photographic bucket list. Their reputation precedes them, the hatchet man, Faygo, the clown makeup. One of the most visually recognizable bands in the world. When I made my way down to the photo pit Monday night all the staff, security, and the other photographers were wearing rain ponchos, alluding to what was about to come our way. I decided to wear a tank top with jeans to the show, and embrace however soaked I got. 30 seconds into the first song and I was indeed covered head to toe in Fayfo, and with a smile on my face. Diet pop really is less sticky than regular, and for that I was grateful. I managed to get some really cool shots in the photo pit, despite the contant stream of soda being thrown around. The droplets of pop on the front of my lens created some really cool effects with the stage lighting. After our three songs, I had fun going around the venue snapping additional photos (from a safer distance). At the end of the show the VIP members were allowed to rush over the barricade and come up on the stage to perform the last song, creating a mob of juggalos and juggalettes. A very unique concert experience, much like the rest of an ICP show. From a wide perspective, the performance art of ICP is truly beautiful. They have created space for fans to have a sense of community and belonging, and allow them to express genuinely and freely. I had so much fun at the show, and the endless sea of smiling fans can attest to the same.
