Pulmonary Sound

Teddy Swims @ Jacobs Pavilion (5/20/2025)

Teddy Swims and his full band kicked off the 2025 summer season last week at Jacobs Pavilion. The evening was cool and rainy, but that didn’t stop the crowd from bringing their full energy. The stage featured a large curved ramp and was backed by a screen displaying visuals corresponding to each song.

Teddy made his entrance via a platform that rose to the top of the ramp, where he opened the show with “Not Your Man.” He then walked down the ramp and continued the set with “Hammer to the Heart” and “Apple Juice.” Toward the end of the third song, fireworks erupted behind the band, setting the tone for the next hour and a half to come.

Throughout the performance, Teddy took time to talk to the audience between songs and explain the meaning behind some of them. He even signed autographs and took selfies on fans’ phones during the show, while performing. I was struck by how much effort Teddy Swims put into making the experience feel intimate, despite playing for a sold-out crowd of over 4,000.

He closed the main set with his hit song “Lose Control” and returned for a three-song encore featuring fan favorites: “Bed on Fire,” “Goodbye's Been Good to You,” and “The Door.” The night ended with confetti cannons bursting above the crowd, as fans walked to their cars with smiles on their faces.
