Purity Ring @ Globe Iron (10/26/2025)
Purity Ring stopped at Globe Iron this week on their Place Of My Own Tour to promote their new self-titled album, which just dropped in September. This is the first album by the Canadian duo in five years, and it is set to be a companion piece inspired by playing video games. The concept album is meant to build its own world. The band describes it as a “journey to build a kinder world amid the ruins of a broken one,” a sentiment they carry into real life by asking fans to wear masks during the show to help keep everyone healthy.
The live performance on Sunday night was unlike anything else I’ve ever seen. The band was positioned behind rotating LCD “fans” that cast dancing light across the stage. At some points the visuals mimicked fire, and at others a sparkling purple solar system. It was the perfect companion to the beautiful vocals and striking beats. Even if you go in blind to the music, like I did, there is so much to enjoy. I highly suggest catching Purity Ring on this tour if you can!
