Glass Animals @ Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica (10/01/2021)

Glass Animals played for a sold out crowd this past Friday at Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica. They started off the night with the title track on their new album, Dreamland, followed by the cult classic “Life Itself”. They played a good mix of older tunes and new hits. The crowd was enthusiastic throughout and there weren’t many down moments. The lead singer, Dave Bayley, put on a show outside of the music, with his dancing and stage presence. The set felt true to their “vintage Cali” aesthetic with a fake swimming pool on stage, complete with a diving board going towards the crowd, and a basketball hoop with palm trees. The backdrop of the stage was a huge fake 90’s computer screen, that had changing visuals to match the song and light show. Glass Animals finished their normal set with “Pork Soda” and came back out to a roaring crowd to play “Tokyo Drifting” and “Heatwaves” as an encore.
